A short version, in plain English
These Terms are the agreement between you and HEYKURL when you visit our site, buy a filter, or sign up for refills. The legal language below covers what we're each responsible for and what happens if something goes wrong.
The most important parts:
- If you're under 18, please make this purchase with a parent or guardian's permission.
- Refill subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel — you can cancel anytime in your account or by email
- Our marketing describes what most customers experience, not guarantees for everyone
- We're a Wyoming company, and disputes are resolved by arbitration in Wyoming, not class action lawsuits

1. Who we are, who you are
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and HEYKURL LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("HEYKURL," "we," "us," "our"). They cover your use of heykurl.com (the "Site"), our products, and any services we offer.
By visiting the Site, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase from us. By buying, you confirm you're 18 or older and legally able to enter a binding contract.
If you're under 18 but at least 13, you can browse the Site but can't purchase or create an account. If you're under 13, please don't use the Site at all.
3. Your account
You don't need an account to make a purchase, but if you create one:
- The information you provide must be accurate and current
- Keep your password secure — you're responsible for activity under your account
- Tell us right away if you spot unauthorized activity
We can suspend or close any account that violates these Terms, that we suspect is fraudulent, or that's been inactive for an extended period.
4. Products and pricing
We do our best to describe and price products accurately, but mistakes happen — typos, incorrect prices, image variations. If we discover an error after you've ordered, we'll contact you and either correct the order with your approval, cancel and refund it, or honor the listed price (our call).
Product images are illustrative. Slight variations in color or appearance are normal.
Prices are in US dollars and don't include applicable sales tax, which is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address.
We can change pricing, discontinue products, or update product descriptions at any time without prior notice.
5. Orders
Placing an order means you're making us an offer to buy. We accept the offer when we send you the shipping confirmation email — that's when the contract is formed.
We may refuse or cancel any order, even after confirmation, if:
- The product is out of stock
- We detect a pricing or description error
- Payment fails or is flagged for fraud
- The shipping address falls outside our delivery area
- We have any other reasonable concern
If we cancel an order you've already paid for, we'll refund you in full.
6. Refill subscriptions and auto-renewal
If you sign up for a refill subscription, here's what you're agreeing to:
It auto-renews. We'll automatically ship a new filter and charge your payment method on the schedule you selected (typically every 90 days), at the price shown when you signed up — until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime. Log into your account and cancel directly, or email support@heykurl.com. As long as you cancel at least 24 hours before your next shipment processes, you won't be charged for it.
Reminders. We'll email you a few days before each renewal, so it's never a surprise.
Pricing changes. If we ever increase the subscription price, we'll email you at least 30 days in advance. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.
Failed payments. If your card is declined, we'll retry a few times and email you. If we can't process payment within 14 days, we'll pause your subscription.
These terms apply to all subscription customers, in every US state.
7. Shipping, returns, and refunds
Shipping is covered by our Shipping Policy. Returns and refunds are covered by our Return Policy. Both are part of these Terms.
8. What our products do (and don't)
HEYKURL filters reduce chlorine and heavy metals in shower water. They are not medical devices and don't treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
The outcomes most customers describe — softer water feel, better product performance, more curl definition — reflect what we hear most often. Hair is individual. Water hardness varies. Your specific results depend on your hair type, current product use, water source, and how consistently you use the filter.
We don't make medical claims, and nothing on the Site should be taken as medical advice.
9. Marketing emails and SMS
When you opt into emails or texts, you agree to receive marketing communications. You can opt out anytime — see our Privacy Policy for full details.
10. Our intellectual property
Everything on the Site — the HEYKURL name, logo, design, text, images, videos, and the "Curl Reset" framework — is owned by HEYKURL or licensed to us. You can't copy, modify, distribute, or use any of it commercially without written permission.
You can share Site content on social media, link to us, and tell people about the brand. That kind of sharing is part of why the internet exists, and we love it.
11. Your content
If you post a review, share a photo, tag us on Instagram or TikTok, or send us content directly, you grant HEYKURL a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, transferable license to use, edit, reproduce, and display that content in our marketing — including ads, social media, the Site, and partnerships with creators.
You keep ownership of your content. We just get the right to use it.
When you submit content, you confirm that:
- It's yours, or you have permission to share it
- It doesn't violate anyone's rights or any law
- It's not misleading, harassing, or harmful
We can remove any content we feel doesn't fit, and we don't have to explain why.
12. What you can't do on the Site
Don't:
- Use the Site for anything illegal
- Try to break, hack, or overload our systems
- Scrape data or use bots, scripts, or other automated tools
- Pose as someone else or misrepresent who you are
- Resell our products without written permission
- Use our brand or content to mislead anyone about who we are or what we sell
We can suspend Site access for anyone who does any of this.
13. Affiliates and creators
If you participate in our creator or affiliate program, separate terms apply in addition to these. You'll receive those when you sign up.
14. Disclaimers
The Site and products are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — except those required by law that can't be disclaimed.
We don't warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We try our best, but the internet is the internet.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, HEYKURL is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or our products. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 6 months before the claim arose.
Some states don't allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability. In those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold HEYKURL harmless from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of someone else's rights.
17. Disputes — arbitration and class action waiver
Read this carefully — it affects your legal rights.
Most disputes can be resolved with one email. Try support@heykurl.com first. If we can't resolve something informally:
- All disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration through the American Arbitration Association (AAA), under its Consumer Arbitration Rules
- Arbitration takes place in Wyoming, or remotely if both sides agree
- You waive the right to participate in any class action or class arbitration against HEYKURL
- You can still bring qualifying claims in small claims court
If a court rules any part of this section unenforceable, the rest still applies.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute not subject to arbitration will be filed in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming.
19. Changes to these Terms
We can update these Terms at any time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Significant changes will be flagged on the Site or by email. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
20. Other legal essentials
Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
No waiver. If we don't enforce a right at one moment, it doesn't mean we've given it up.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Return Policy, and Shipping Policy, are the full agreement between you and HEYKURL on this subject.
Assignment. You can't transfer your rights under these Terms. We can.
